May 01, 1947 – November 10, 2017
MANCHESTER, NH – Cynthia A. Shreve, 70, of Derry, died unexpectedly the evening of Friday, Nov. 10, 2017, from natural causes at CMC Manchester. She was loved and surrounded by family throughout the day and in her final moments.
Cynthia was born May 1, 1947, in Hamtramck, Mich., to Edward and Irene Jeskey. Her life was filled with her love for family, art, and travel. She pursued her artistic talent throughout her life, and her home was filled with paintings from all the stages of her life. Her love of art and design inspired her to pursue a degree in art at Michigan State University where she met and married her loving husband of 49 years, Theron Shreve.
After they graduated, they moved to Massachusetts where she got her master’s degree in Interior Architecture. She taught at Endicott College for a few years before moving into a professional interior architecture practice, which would become her lifelong career, designing homes throughout the northeast. Her work was greatly respected, and late in her career, she was regularly featured in NH Home magazine.
Even more important than Cynthia’s career was her family. She was devoted to her sons, Theron and Josh; always volunteering to help with their school, sports, and other activities. She generously loved her large extended family and many lifelong friends. Family meals, gatherings, and trips abroad were her greatest sources of joy.
Her passing will be mourned, but her life will be celebrated.
She was preceded in death by her son Jason; her granddaughter, Nora; her parents, Edward and Irene Jeskey; and her brother, Edward.
She is survived by her husband of 49 years, Theron R Shreve of Derry; her sons, Theron E. and Joshua Shreve; her granddaughter, Elizabeth; her sister, Claudia Aluia; her brother, Alan Jeskey; and numerous aunts, uncles and cousins.
